In the past, a large majority of teen boys did not want a hairstyle which was over the top or difficult to deal with. In this generation, however, teenage boys are becoming increasingly interested in their personal appearances. Everybody wants to sport the latest hairstyles, and luckily, there are many options to choose from!
One of most popular teen hairstyles for boys includes short, spiky hair, which usually gets its effect through the use of pomade or hair gel. Shag hairstyles are also becoming seen amongst teenage boys. These hairstyles can be cut at different lengths as a means of complimenting each boy’s facial structure. In the media, we see this shag look on popular celebrities including Zac Efron and Justin Beiber. Layered hairstyles are often used for guys who have a curly, shag type hairstyle. Layering can give the hair more volume, which will make it look very voluptuous and healthy.
Guys can also add a little color into their hairstyles as well. Many teenage boys like to add some “ice” onto their spiky haircuts. This basically entails bleaching the tips of the spikes to allow for a color which bursts with effervescence. Additionally, shag and layered styles can be textured with lowlights, highlights, and hair products.
Lastly, for the guys who aren’t necessarily high maintenance, a classic crew cut is always a viable option. This cut is extremely low maintenance, and allows active guys to spend more time enjoying their time, rather than worrying about their appearance.

To achieve Rob’s old look at home, there are a few styling products you will need. These include styling gel or wax, pomade and hairspray as well as a fine toothed comb and a blow dryer. To begin, wash and condition your hair as you normally would, and towel dry. While still damp, apply wax to the hair from root to tip and comb through with a fine toothed comb.

This ensures coverage of the hair so that the style stays in place. Next, tousle the hair in different directions, but away from the face. Blow dry the hair on low to help set the wax, and then apply pomade to the palm of your hand and rub this into the ends of the hair. After the hair is into place, set with a light mist of hairspray.

To get Rob’s new look that is so much akin to another star’s golden locks, a set of clippers and a ¼ inch guard is required. Simply attach the guard to the teeth of the clippers and make sure the set screw is tightened enough to keep the teeth from rattling, but not so tight that the teeth do not move. Now simply begin at the base of the hairline at the neck and shave forward until all the hair has been shaved down to one quarter of an inch.
